Knowing

I did not come all this way

Journeying through the creation of time

Dusting the glitter of my being into each individual cell of realization;

I did not wait patiently all this time

For this specific organization of earthlight to emerge

So that I could live into this body

Just to tame her.

I did not birth this manifestation

Just to watch her be hated, criticized, shamed, and shaped into submission.

I came here to know her.

To watch her age

And die

To witness as she shows me what it means to be human.

I came here to know her.

To explore the playground of miracles she carries within her

To listen patiently and love her

In the moments that she grieves my absence

To lean in and love her

In the moments that she draws near to me

And I feel her feeling me.

(Isn’t it sweet?

She’s the one who taught me how to feel.)

I chose this body because I loved her.

I became her to know her.
