June

This morning, the desert felt like Christmas
Warm and quiet
But with a cool breeze that seemed to whisper “hope”
The sun soothed
“This is what peace feels like”
The winds kissed my heart
A gentle gift of excitement
“Good things are coming”
The plants and the trees could feel it too
I know because I saw them dancing
Their leaves tickled at the thought
Even the tallest and strongest of them couldn’t help but be moved
I, too, was moved
Waiting for the chance to
Unravel our ribbons
And tear open our wrappings together
“I can’t wait for you to see what I’ve brought for you”
