I currently work on a sliding scale. Here’s how it works…
Sessions are 60 minutes, usually weekly or every other week, depending on what you can commit to logistically and financially.
The cost per session is the amount you choose between $60-$150.
If your payment needs to adjust session to session, that’s okay.
My sliding scale is based on the honor system: you don’t have to show me proof of your financial situation or give me a reason to justify what you choose to pay me. I request that if you can afford to pay a higher rate, you do, and if you cannot, that you pay a lower rate. I request that you choose an amount that feels fair to you for what you are getting out of these sessions but is also an amount that you can sustain for a series of sessions.
And here’s why…
I don’t believe that trauma work should be seen as a luxury, and healing isn’t something that happens overnight. Yes, you can get a lot of out one session, but the biggest shifts are seen when work gently and continuously over an extended period of time. My hope is that by letting you choose your price, I can help make working together long-term an option.
I want a relationship with you that is built on trust and open communication. I trust you to be fair and honest. And I find that setting your own price provides an opportunity to begin to build trust in yourself to take care of yourself and your own needs.
