Yoga, Sex + Death™ 6-Week Course for Women

  • Private Studio 25848 Springbrook Avenue Santa Clarita, CA, 91350 United States (map)

Together, over the course of 6 Saturdays, we will look at your relationship to the two main themes that weave together yoga, sex, and death: Intimacy and Letting Go.

Our days will include lecture, group discussion, and practices such as Yoga, meditation, self-inquiry, shadow work exercises, feminine embodiment practices, group ritual, and Yoga Nidra

Here are the course intentions, to give you a better sense of some of the ideas we'll be working through together:

  • To Resensitize, To Feel - Whether directly or indirectly, many of us have been taught to numb ourselves to the sensations of our bodies, our emotions, and to our own internal desires. So here, we start by coming back to our bodies, and remembering how to feel.

  • Expand our energetic container so we can sit with strong emotion - In order to feel, we must learn to trust in our own capacity to hold ourselves. We must believe that we are our own safest place to be. So we learn how to create a safe container for ourselves, how to trust and follow our deepest inner "yes", and to stay open-hearted in our firm and unwavering "no".

  • Meet ourselves honestly + gently (intimacy with yourself) - Before we can begin to have any kind of truly honest relationship with another, on a physical, emotional, or psychological level, we have to have the courage to meet ourselves honestly, with deep compassion, and true understanding.

  • Heal the inner feminine + masculine - We start by looking at where we have internalized cultural or societal repression, anger, or hatred of the feminine and of the masculine. Slowly and gently, we begin the process of inviting these two energies into balance and harmony.

  • Move from personal story to transpersonal experience (self-inquiry) - There is no original story. As we get to know others, we get to know ourselves. As we come to understand ourselves, we come to understand our world.

  • You can watch the 4 women from my first cohort share some of their takeaways here. You can also learn more about the course and my teacher (the creator of YSD) here.

Who is this for? The course is open to 8 students who identify as female. No prior yoga or meditation experience is necessary, and all levels of experience are welcome. The only prerequisites are a willingness to show up and an open mind. The curriculum is designed to meet you where you are.
